Founded by Computer Engineering professors and PhDs from University of Toronto, YScope turns breakthrough ideas in failure prediction, resolution, and log management into real-world impact. Its current technology, CLP (Compressed Log Processor), delivers innovative log compression and analytics, deployed at petabyte scale across cloud platforms and millions of electric vehicles. YScope's mission is to automate systems management with intelligent and efficient tools.

Founders

Professor Ding Yuan
Ding is a Computer Engineering professor and Canada Research Chair in Systems Software at the University of Toronto. He is an expert in log management and failure diagnosis. He is also the Vice Chair of ACM Special Interest Group in Operating Systems.
Professor Michael Stumm
Michael is an angel investor and advisor for YScope. He is a Computer Engineering professor at the University of Toronto. While a professor, Michael co-founded two companies, SOMA Networks, and OANDA. He ran OANDA from 2001 until 2012.
Dr. Kirk Rodrigues
Kirk is the lead maintainer of the open-source CLP project. He was one of the authors and core developers of the CLP system during his PhD research at University of Toronto.
Jack Luo
Jack leads the CLP-on-Edge solution that deployed CLP on over 1 million EVs. He was one of the authors and core developers of CLP during his PhD research at University of Toronto.
Dr. David Lion
David leads the development of CLP’s intelligence and agentic layer, advancing automated system management. He holds a PhD from the University of Toronto.
